My friend’s Miata. For her birthday I detailed it for her. I brought my kit that I keep in my trunk. I didn’t know they had never washed it in the 3 years they have owned it. A serious scrub and scrub and scrub inside and out. I thought the car was gray there was so much dirt and pollen on it and the inside was disgusting. They trunk was half full of water.... But a few hours of fun and she had a decent looking car again. Really needed a couple hours under a buffing wheel and polisher, but a clay bar and decent hand wax was all I had. She was so happy and that all I could ask for.

Wasn’t sure if this was a real Saleen. the owner was asleep in the drivers seat. Probably to keep it from eating the small children in the park.

This Z8 was super clean and a manual. You may notice the Alpina wheel, but alas this is a regular Z8 that the owner got the Alipina wheels and the European model suspension. He said it was a much nicer car after that to drive. The AMG GT you see was driving with the Z8. He didn’t get out of the car so while we were talking I noticed the wheelchair under the hatch and the hand controls. Very interesting man. Both him and his son(? in the Z8) were speaking a little German, but knew good English and we talked cars. I asked how the hand controls worked. After explaining them to me he said, “If I have to buy myself legs, they better be fast legs.” I think thats such a great way to live life.

It’s awesome to hear stuff like that. I’m always floored by peoples ability to remain optimistic and even thriving with such disabilities. I can’t see myself ever keeping that good an attitude, so it’s inspiring as hell to hear people that have kept their shit together regardless

Well I think the GT had paddle shifters, but yes a thumb operated throttle ring around the inside of the steering wheel, and a large handle with a bulb on the end he pulls down for brakes that was installed where a normal column shifter would be if it had one.
